SMBC is Awesome!

Short Mountain Bible Camp (aka SMBC) is the greatest camp on earth! It is located near McMinnville Tennessee. I have been going for 8 years and this year will be my 9th. I have great memories there, like all the times I learned something new about God or met a new friend. Every memory there is a memory I'll keep forever. There is so much to do. You have devos then you have free time where you can pick anywhere from riding horses to swimming and making crafts and so much more. You stay in cabins and of course girls and boys have different villages. You have teams and the whole week your competing to get the most points from your team activities. I have an amazing time and every year I learn something new to help me on my Christian walk through life. To learn more on the greatest camp on earth go to www.shortmountaincamp.org. So what do you have to lose? Just go to the site and learn how you can attend SMBC!

Fun at Lomax Youth Rally

We had sooo much fun on the 16th & 17th of March. Why you may ask. Because we went to a youth rally at Lomax Church of Christ. The topic this year was "Got Blessings" (James.1:17)? I learned about our blessings and how sometimes we take for granted how much God has given us and how we can use our blessings to help someone else. We had so much fun on the way there and back and in our cabins we stayed in. Timberly & I stayed up until 4:30. We watched a movie, took tons of pictures and played pranks on our older sisters. We had a blast and met a lot of nice people. If someone from Lomax reads this, I just want to thank you soo much for everything and to let you know Monterey is coming next year. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Dog Care Tips

Large amounts of people in the world have dogs, but some don't give them the right amount of care. Here are just a few tips on dog care. A dog should always get the right amount of food for their size. Taking care of the coat is important. If your dog is a long haired dog he is prone to get mats in his hair. A mat is a clump of hair tangled together and can stop the circulation in that area. You will always want to make sure to use flea or flea and tick drops. You should annualy have a vet give your dog his vaccinations. If your dog nails get to long, you may want to trim them. To find out more on dog care go to www.dogpile.com and type in dog care.

Horse Care Tips

When you get a horse you have to know what your getting into. Theses are just a few questions you should ask yourself. Do I have the space? Do I have the time? Do I have the money? And last but certainly not the lest, do I have the horse knowledge? You don't have to be a horse expert to own a horse. You should just be able to detect when your horse has a problem and then you should fix it or get it fixed. You should always keep up with your horse's hooves. About every two months you should have a ferrier come to your house and trim or trim and shoe your horse. You should always make sure you are giving your horse the right amount of grain, roughage and minerals. A good thing to get is a mineral block. An important thing to do is to deworm your horse. You should always rotate your dewormer brands so the parasites don't get immune to the dewormer. These are just a few things you should do with your horse. To find out more on horse care go to www.dogpile.com and type in horse care.

My Wonderful Parents

I have wonderful parents! Anytime I need help they help me and they always are there for me. I am blessed to have faithful Christian parents. My mom, Joan, home schools my sisters and I. We really enjoy the extra time we get to spend with her. My dad, Joe, works at a hospital. He is a very helpful dad. He shows us how to fix something when it needs it and he shows us how to be a hard worker. My parents are truly one of a kind and God has blessed me with the honor of letting me have them as parents! I LOVE them both very much!

Our Dogs

Dogs have been my favorite animal for a long time. Six years ago when our family got our first dog, I was so happy. Of course, the only way we could get him is if we promised we would take care of him. And did we fulfill our promise? Of course we did. Half of the fun of having a dog is taking care of him. Jake on the left of the picture is now 6 years old. He is half brittany spaniel, half golden retriever. We love him so much. When he was younger, he got lonely, so we got him a pal. We got Missy about 5 years ago. She is now 4 and she is a hound mix. Many people are afraid of her, but she is just a big baby. She would never hurt anyone. As you can tell from the picture, she loves her food. Missy and Jake are great dogs and obedient companions.

Our Horses

When I was about 9 or 10 there was a mare and her colt at the end of our road. The mare's name was Sally and we named the colt Biscuit. Jess and I always went down there and pet them and played with them. After the colt was sold, the mare was brought back to the barn. The man who owned the mare said we could come over anytime and ride his horses. Sally was sold, but he had another mare we rode all the time and her name was Lady. Ever since we rode her, Jess and I started liking horses even more. We started taking riding lessons. Then two years ago Lady had a filly. We had seen her three hours after she was born. We named her Daisy. When Daisy was old enough to be weaned, we bought her. She was kept with a little pony we were training. They became really good friends and stayed with each other for about 6 months. When we were done with the pony's training, we gave the pony back to her owner. We bought Pearl to keep Daisy company last year. Last fall, Lady's owner sold her to us. Now we have three horses. In the picture from left to right is Pearl, Lady and Daisy. Pearl is a 9 year old appaloosa mare. Though she is chestnut and has no spots, she is registered in the Appaloosa Horse Club. Lady is an 8 year old spotted saddlehorse. Daisy is a bay Tenneesse walking horse/saddlehorse cross. She will be 2 this spring. Jess and I enjoy riding and taking care of them.

My Awesome Sisters

I have great sisters! Jessica is the one on the left of the picture. She is 16 and is a Junior in high school. Jessica and I are the horse girls in the family. My sisters and I own three horses and Jess and I love to ride and take care of them. Jessica would like to one day open a horse farm. She also likes to read many types of books. Jess loves to play sports and do activities outside. Janelle is the one in the middle of the picture. She is 18 years old and a senior in high school. She enjoys sewing, knitting, crocheting and many other types of crafts. Janelle would one day like to open a store. I believe Janelle could run a great store. Many people have had her make many different things for them. Whether it be purses or bags or even hats. She also likes to read. And that's me over there on the right of the picture. Our mom homeschools us and we really enjoy it. We have so many great times together. We are very close sisters. I am so grateful to have two wonderful sisters like them.

My Awesome Brother

Jordan is a great brother! He is a freshman at Tennessee Tech University where he is majoring in political science. He plays Ultimate Frisbee and does PA announcing for the TTU sports teams. He is interested in political issues and is also interested in department stores and the stock market. He is a faithful Christian and loves to attend church. Jordan would like to one day run for congress and personally, I think he would make a great congressman. He is a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Eagles. He supports the Tech sports and enjoys watching the basketball games. I am grateful to have a brother like Jordan!

My faith in God

I have been a Christian for many years. I attend many youth rallies with the church youth group. Many of my friends go to the same church as I do. Every year I attend a Church of Christ youth camp called Short Mountain Bible Camp (aka SMBC). It is located around McMinnville in Tenneesse. To learn more about SMBC go to www.shortmountaincamp.org. It is a great place to meet great friends and learn more about God. My number one goal in life is to obey God and go to heaven.

Welcome!

My name is Jenny Iwanyszyn! I am 14 years old, and I live in the best little community in the world, Muddy Pond. Muddy Pond is known for it's Mennonite citizens and it's delious sorghum. I love animals. My favorite animals are dogs and horses. My family has three cats, two dogs and three horses. I have a wonderful family! I have wonderful friends! Yep, you could say I have a wonderful life. But the one who gives me so much is God. I am a Christian and go to Church faithfully. I am very active in the church youth group, and I go to Monterey Church of Christ. By the way, Muddy Pond is about 45 minutes away from Cookeville in Tennessee. I just want to welcome you to my blog and hope you enjoy!
